Syllabus

In this section we will look at the various Kihon, Kata and Kumite each student is required to demonstrate in order to pass grading. There are several technical terms throughout the syllabus that would be useful if not necessary for the student to learn. Throughout this section, these terms will be identified in red writing and linked to the glossary.
First we will look at the grading structure before proceding through each grade in turn. For those impatient ones among you then you can go straight to that grade by clicking on it!

 10th Kyu - white belt
 9th Kyu - orange belt
 8th Kyu - red belt
 7th Kyu - yellow belt
 6th Kyu - green belt
 5th Kyu - purple belt
 4th Kyu - purple & white belt
 3rd Kyu - brown belt
 2nd Kyu - brown & white belt
 1st Kyu - brown & white belt
 Shodan - black belt 1st dan
 Nidan - black belt 2nd dan
 Sandan - black belt 3rd dan
 Yondan - black belt 4th dan
